Babies in Tow organizes baby-friendly talks, live music, and other events for curious moms and dads who are on maternity and paternity leave in Vancouver, where babies are more than welcome to attend (even if the event has nothing to do with them)!
If so, please join us for a break away from the normal baby routine!
Babies in Tow has taken a siesta because I have moved with my family to Perth, Australia! This doesn't mean the baby events are over - stay tuned for future news on new management!
In the meantime, say hi to other new moms and dads when you walk by each other on the street, at the park, or sit next to them at a baby class. We are all going through this together and it isn't easy at times, so we need to do our best to support each other. Continue to create an inclusive community of other new parents around you and we will all learn, laugh, and vent together! Just getting out of the house and saying hello will brighten up those early newborn days, or any parenting days really.
While you're at it, if you've had a nice chat and a laugh, exchange phone numbers and start a friendship! Yes, it is awkward to make friends as adults... but you will look back on the milestones you went through together as new mom-friends and you'll be glad you did.
I am grateful for making lifelong friends - at prenatal class, pregnancy aqua-fit, postnatal Crossfit, and Babies in Tow events!
Does your child seem to play with ordinary "things" around the house a lot more than the expensive toys you buy for her/him?
Pooja Pabari, French Immersion Kindergarten teacher at Maple Ridge schools and new mom of 12-month old son, Armaan, will introduce us to the importance of sensory play, guide us through her sensory box creations, and coach us on how to make our own at home! Pooja has a teaching degree and a curriculum and planning graduate degree from SFU.
• Wednesday, June 26
• Bambini's Playroom, 4879 Main Street (AT 33rd Ave.)
• $12 tickets in advance, $15 at the door
• Hands-on learning for you and your baby and a fun outing to socialize with other new moms, dads and babies!
Pooja will introduce 4 of her sensory bins, a sensory board and her idea of weekly rotating activity bins. These samples will give you exciting ideas in how you can use simple things around the house to create fun and stimulating materials that your baby can use and play with for many years to come.
This Sensory Box Workshop will give you ideas of simple and accessible things that you can use around the house to stimulate your baby's development and play!
Light exercise for you, pop-classical music and swaying for your baby, and fun vibes for all!
This introductory ballet class will work your strength, balance, posture... and your baby will have fun going along for the ride!
